As we publish today’s blog, a nor’easter is expected to hit Eastern Massachusetts from Monday into Tuesday, bringing damaging winds and heavy rain. The right preparation can make all the difference in keeping your house and property safe.
Here are a few tips to make sure you are ready for the upcoming storm:
- Check your sump pumps and make sure they are fully operational.
- Make sure gutters are clear of leaves and debris and that downspouts are attached and run away from your property.
- In your basement, make sure you store all personal belongings and contents off of the floor on shelving. If you do have containers on the floor, make sure they are water-tight and made of plastic. No cardboard boxes on the floor!
